The unique dark finish on Samuel Groves’ Mermaid Hard Anodised range is the by-product of an electro-chemical process that hardens the outer layer of the aluminium to produce a more durable surface. It is typically twice as hard as Stainless Steel and its surface will never peel, flake or blister (unlike non sticks). furthermore it will not buckle.
Over time, if used correctly, Samuel Groves Hard Anodised products will build up a Patina which will make them virtually non-stick. Aluminium is an extremely efficient heat conductor, it heats up quickly and produces a consistent even bake. This is the reason it is the preferred choice of professional chefs.
